Salary: $75,000 annually

NYCHA’s Department of Resident Health Initiatives builds health and advances health equity through innovation and cross-system collaboration. The Department leads and strategically supports initiatives that connect residents to preventive health initiatives, help create healthier indoor environments and build capacity for resident leadership in health.
About the Opportunity
The Healthy Start @ NYCHA Coordinator will serve in NYCHA’s Department of Resident Health Initiatives under a groundbreaking program to support expectant NYCHA families. The program works across systems to ensure that expecting NYCHA families have a safe home and connections to supportive resources. The program supports NYCHA’s broader work to create safer homes for children and is aligned with local and national efforts to dismantle maternal and infant health inequities.
Responsibilities
The Healthy Start @ NYCHA Coordinator will join a growing team working at the forefront of maternal health and birth equity. Reporting to the Healthy Start @ NYCHA Senior Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for coordination of key program functions to ensure expecting NYCHA families have a safe home and are connected to available supportive resources.
Duties of the Project Coordinator include but are not limited to the following:
Lead coordination with internal NYCHA teams to address maintenance and repair needs and promote health and safety in homes of expectant residents participating in the Healthy Start @ NYCHA program.
Maintain project data and support work to meet defined annual performance targets.
Assist the Senior Project Manager in program action areas that strengthen connections for growing NYCHA families to partner-based health and wellbeing support. Support coordination of critical working relationships with external partners including the New York City Health Department and non-profit organizations that operate maternal/child/family health programs.
Provide exceptional customer service to resident program participants.
Help coordinate and staff special events as needed.
Support the design and implementation of strategies to secure resident stakeholder input in the program.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of professional experience in program management, public health, social services, or a related field; OR
High school graduation (or equivalent) and 4 years of relevant professional experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and virtual platforms like Zoom and Teams.
Preferred Skills and Experience
Advanced degree and/or experience in public health or social work.
Expertise in managing community partnerships and engaging diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with NYCHA communities and a commitment to health equity.
