Design the National Public Housing Museum’s First Membership Card!
The Public Housing Community Fund, in partnership with NYCHA’s Office of Public-Private Partnerships (OPPP), and the National Public Housing Museum is thrilled to announce an art competition for New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) residents.
We invite NYCHA residents to submit original artwork that reflects community and public housing themes.
A distinguished panel will judge the entries and the winning artist will receive $500 and their art will be featured prominently on a limited edition digital museum membership card. The grand prize winner will also receive 2 round-trip tickets on JetBlue that they can use to travel anywhere and 2 nights hotel accommodations in Chicago should they wish to come to the grand opening of the museum.
We will recognize three runner-ups, all who will also have the chance to work with the Museum to sell their artwork in the cooperative store at the National Public Housing Museum for one year, and receive proceeds and profits from these sales.

The National Public Housing Museum (NPHM) is the only cultural institution devoted to telling the story of public housing in the United States. Its mission is to preserve, promote, and propel the right of all people to a place where they can live and prosper—a place to call home. As a Site of Conscience, the Museum is a historically significant site that links the past with today’s most urgent social issues.
NPHM is offering free memberships to the Museum for all NYCHA residents! Members can proudly proclaim their support for public housing, and will have access to digital content rich with stories and interactive features, and other member benefits.
