Eagle Island Summer camp Scholarships

The Eagle Island Summer Camp Scholarship is an exciting opportunity for girls living in NYCHA communities to experience a life-changing adventure in the great outdoors! This overnight camp, located on Saranac Lake in the beautiful Adirondacks, empowers girls ages 9-15 to build confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships through activities like swimming, hiking, canoeing, and creative workshops.

Scholarships cover one week of camp, and applicants can select one of the following weeks:

  • Sunday, June 29 – Friday, July 4

  • Sunday, July 20 — Friday, July 25

  • Sunday, July 27 – Friday, August 1

Full scholarships cover all fees, meals, accommodations, and transportation for one of the above weeks.

This is a unique chance to explore nature, discover new passions, and create unforgettable memories!

Who can apply:

  • Residents of NYCHA only.

  • Girls who are between the ages of 9-15 as of June 29, 2025

  • Commit to attending one full week of camp from the dates listed above. Round-trip transportation from NYC to Saranac Lake, NY, will be provided.

Program Benefits:

  • Eagle Island is located in the beautiful Adirondacks and campers will have access to swimming, hiking, canoeing, campfires, creative activities and more

  • Full camp fees including all meals, accomodations, and transportation are covered by the scholarship.

  • Food and transportation support included!

Accepted camper and family reception will be held in March (date TBD). Accepted campers must be accompanied by one parent or guardian.
